Happy New Year!
I’m back to work today so it’s time to set some goals for 2017 and do some real adulting. Never really done this properly before so it will be interesting to see how many I tick off this time next year!
2016 was alright. I feel that socially and politically the western world is heading slightly backwards and a celebrity was dying every day so the public’s mood was down but I have lots to be thankful for. I mean I graduated from university with a 2:1, landed a graduate job, ran a Tough Mudder and went lovely holidays so I shouldn’t complain!
I have a really strong feeling 2017 is going to be good so here’s some goals to ensure it is:
Buy a house
Might as well start with a big one. My boyfriend and I have been looking to move in together for a while now and we want to get on the ladder. Much easier said than done but bearing in mind we’ve been looking for a while now we want to be moved in by Easter!
Gyahhh this is so hard but it needs to be done. I need to stick to putting a good chunk of my salary away and not touch it. Not even for one thing. It will be so useful to have the money waiting there when solicitor’s/estate agent fees come looming.
Not dumbing down my accomplishments
I have no idea why I do this but I really shouldn’t. If you do something awesome, no matter how big or small, don’t let it hide in the dark! I’m not saying you should brag to the world that you got a pay rise but I need to be more proud of myself. Landing the grad scheme took a sh*t load of effort and, it has set me up until 2018 at least, so I should be happy telling people about it 🙂
Kicking ass at work
It took a lot to get here so I need to make it worthwhile. I’ve started a career at 22 years old and it’s going to take some seriously hard work to achieve what I want in this company. By 2018 I want to make the most of all my placements, have my Excel skills to be 10/10 and have an expansive network.
A post a week. That’s all. I can do this!
Also I want to ace blogging photography and be happier with what I’m putting up.
I have a gorgeous planner from the Rijksmusuem in Amsterdam and I want to make it beautiful and useful. Also stick to the new couple’s calendar ‘FamCal’ with my boyfriend which will save lots of time.
Take multivitamins everyday
Stop touching my face so much
Moisturise once every 2 days minimum
Sort out the weird bumps on my right cheekbone. Really weird. Must get rid of them.
Go on a 10 mile run. I technically did this last year in the Tough Mudder but I didn’t train for it therefore couldn’t move for 3 days (I genuinely took a day off).
Get my splits back! I used to have insane flexibility whilst doing cheerleading and it’s all gone now *cri* so I want to get super flexy again and get my scorpion back too!
Skipping. When I’m at work I take a 7:30am skipping class on most Wednesdays and it’s amazing cardio. I want to be able to skip backwards, alternate leg skipping and 5 criss-crosses in a row. Honestly, you should see some of the people in this class, they’re practically levitating.
Reach 1000 followers. Yes I know…I can feel you silently judging me! Reaching 1k is cool to me so I’m going to do it idgaf.
